Green Smoothie Challenge

Why not?

I had a friend post a link to a "30 day green smoothie challenge" on Facebook. I figured since it was free I might as well put my name on their email list.  It's actually really nice because they send out a grocery list and recipes every week so I know exactly what I need.  They encourage you to use the list as inspiration and make whatever you want, but I think I will stick pretty close to what they send out.  And if I end up just reading the emails and thinking about making smoothies instead of actually making them, no one will know.

So here we are- Challenge #1 (Gorilla Punch)

Cheers!

(If you want to sign up for the challenge, here is the website I went through http://simplegreensmoothies.com)

Milestones

My baby decided that tonight would be a good night to sit on his own!  He wasn't very impressed that I kept trying to take a picture so this is the best I was able to get.  Regardless of the photo quality, I am so excited for my little man!

Just for fun, here's a photo from our road trip home.

Don't get crazy, he didn't really drive. This was just a diaper change break.  He is smiling because I had just changed him and he was about to have a huge massive poop.  :)

I love my little family so much that sometimes I think my heart might explode!  Just look at them!  Eeeeee!

Fun with Cousin

It's difficult to get a photo of these two little monsters together. :)  They are so fun though.  It makes me melt when they chatter with each other.

Cameron wants to crawl so bad!  He really wants to be on the move like his cousin.

I'm sure it will happen very soon.  I think Hubby and I better start baby proofing!

We opened presents last night and the little guys had a blast with the paper!  And we learned that Cameron won't be taking a picture standing in front of the tree by himself. ;)  He's not quite ready for that.

Pepper got a nice present, too!

And did I mention that I am a very spoiled mama?

It is awesome.  Now I know why Cameron likes his so much!

Weekly Wednesday: 27 (Merry Christmas!)

Merry Christmas!

For Christmas Eve we had a great time celebrating at my grandma's house.  This morning we woke up to some awesome goodies in our stockings from Santa.  Cameron was maybe more excited to play with his stocking than the contents, but that's ok.  :)  This afternoon we went to visit my other grandma and had a delicious supper at my parent's house.

Cameron gave Pepper a new toy and she had fun sharing it with him.

We tried our weekly photos but they didn't work out the best this week....

Cameron loved his present from his very talented Grandma Debbie!  A new sock monkey!

We make all of our presents, so it's always fun to see what everyone comes up with!  Auntie sewed Cameron a new bib and so we tested it out with some yummy banana.  Grandpa made Hubby a wooden hammer to go with his wooden pliers.  It's pretty awesome!  Grandma sewed Hubby a nice new bath mat that is curved to fit our shower.  (It's the little things like a shower mat that fits snugly to the shower that make all the difference.)  Auntie made me some shelves that I am so excited to get in my craft room!   Cameron made everyone some gifts that still don't seem to be ready... so either we have to figure out a new way to make them or maybe they will be finished by next Christmas. ;) Santa came to Cameron's stocking at grandma's house, too.  He left him a Hug Me Elmo.  I'm not sure if that's what he's called, but he is so cute and gives hugs!  Those are just a few of the highlights from our gift exchange and now my little man is letting me know that my blogging time is up!

So far baby's first Christmas has been an awesome one!

Nice List

Cameron got some official mail from Santa yesterday.  We are happy to say he made the nice list.

Good thing Santa sent this because I never would've thought to leave treats for the reindeer.  Do reindeer eat dog biscuits?

Weekly Wednesday: 26

Hey, guess what!  It's actually Wednesday!

Today we switched out all of his six month clothes for nine month!  He also found his toes this week.  Hopefully he will show off his sock pulling off toe grabbing skills tomorrow for his six month photo shoot!

How many days until Christmas?

Here's a fun fact: We make our Christmas presents.  Or try really hard to have at least part of it be something we made.

Here's another fun fact:  We are procrastinators.  Seriously, how many things was I planning to make and I basically started last night?  Uff.  I will add that hubby has been on a role getting presents done.  I'm sure if I didn't say this he would remind me how many he has made.

But let's talk about how productive I am when I'm procrastinating!  (Check out this new blog post!)  and look what else!

Now this might not look as clean to you as it does to me.  Imagine the inside of this oven is black.  That's the before.  I was too embarrassed to show the world the real before.  Seriously though, "before" our house smelled like food (not in a good way) the minute the oven got warm.  I'm hoping that after removing heaps of burnt yuck we won't have that problem.  Bye, bye burnt on pumpkin pie filling!  I did this with my two new friends, baking soda and vinegar!  It's fizzy and fun (in a cleaning sort of way) and doesn't require much scrubbing!  I've heard that if you put the baking soda and vinegar on and then heat up the oven a bit it works even better.  This was good enough for me.  I would say "maybe next time" but there won't ever be another time our oven is completely black.  We are obviously never using it again.

I even lined the bottom with tin foil so it looks even better now.

Cameron had a big weekend!

Just standing around, no big deal.

And then he met Santa.

And then he tried banana.  He liked sucking the banana off the spoon so the baby spoons we have are too big.  Good thing we have an excess number of measuring spoons.

And on Sunday Cameron was in his first play.  He was such a good Baby Jesus.  I felt a little guilty that I got to be Mary for the second time in my life.  When I was in Sunday School we took turns so all of the girls could be Mary once and all of the boys could be Joseph.  It was a big deal.  Maybe it wasn't that big of a deal, but I remember that going in order and making sure everyone had a turn was very important.

Last night we only woke up once.  We had been waking up so often lately that when hubby got up for work I was worried that something was wrong!  I can't even remember the last time we slept so much.  He must've known that mommy needed sleep to help get rid of this cold.  It should be against the rules for mommies to get sick.  And he needs sleep to get rid of his cold, too.  Not fun!  I caved in and bought a new snot sucker for his poor little nose.  The kind that I gagged about before.  The kind that you put in your mouth and suck the snot out of baby's nose.  Surprisingly it is way more amazing than disgusting!  I feel bad that I tortured Cameron with the blue bulb for so long!  He doesn't even scream at me when I use this one.  I never thought I'd be so excited about a snot sucker.  Parenthood does weird things to people.

Weekly Wednesday: 25

Whew!  Here we go!

Cameron loves to babble and make faces.  He didn't want to show off his teeth, but I got these gems instead.

Weekly Wednesday: 24

Cameron and Pepper were not as excited about taking pictures today as they were yesterday.   It's too cold out today!

Cameron started fussing like crazy at about 3:00 this morning.  He wasn't interested in nursing and his diaper was dry.  I gave him some teething tablets (love them!) and he fell back asleep.  This morning we woke up to tooth number two!  I'm so excited for my little guy!  Only a couple more weeks and we'll be ready to start real food!

My baby is also starting to be less interested with laying under his play gym.  He still likes it, but only for shorter amounts of time.  His new favorite thing to do is stand.  He wants to be up playing, not laying down.  His little legs are getting so strong!  Not too much longer now and I think he will be on the move!

I think we need to take a little break from having Cameron in the giraffe chair.  He is too wiggly and tips right out of it.  So Roarbert got to sit in it instead.  Cameron clearly knew that Roarbert stole his spot.

Pepper doesn't care.

Pepper wants everyone to go back to bed.

Cameron told me it was ok if I shared this unintentionally up-the-nose picture so everyone can see his brand new teeth!  Chomp chomp!
