Weekly Wednesday: 14

Sometimes it's impossible to do a weekly update on the right day.

Sometimes it's better to snuggle my fussy baby than update my blog.

Sometimes Hubby decides to shut the nursery door after he puts baby in the crib.

Sometimes I shut the hallway light off before checking on my little man.

And then sometimes I walk right into the nursery door.  Hopefully that doesn't happen again.  Now I know what birds feel like when they fly into windows.  I'm very happy that I didn't wake my sweet baby up after a very long day.

THREE MONTHS!

Holy moly!

I can't believe it's been three months!  Yesterday we switched out all of his clothes from the 0-3 month size to the 3-6 month size.

I couldn't get any smiles from my sweet little man during our photoshoot.  Maybe tomorrow for his 14 week pictures.  :)

Pepper noticed that Cameron's pant leg was riding up.  Good thing I have her for an assistant.

Tummy time

Tummy time is not a favorite activity around here.  In fact, I worry that I've been a little too nice about not making him do it. I read somewhere that at three months he should be getting 90 minutes of tummy time each day!  That's not fun when he screams the whole time (or falls asleep! He's pretty extreme about it.)

The same article also suggested that I should let him lay on a pillow and he might like it more.  It was really one of those head slapping moments (duh!) because the play mat even came with a pillow!!  Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure they market the boppy as a tummy time pillow, too.  So here's to a new goal of 90 minutes!  So far, so good!

Baptism

We had baptism for our little man yesterday.  He did such a good job.  It was fun having so many babies at church.  I always think it's cute when they start talking to each other.  I suppose I won't think it's so cute when Cameron is the one making lots of noise and I'm trying to get him to be quiet.

I guess Cameron was all smiles when we were up at the front of the church.  I couldn't see it, but maybe someone got a picture?

Yum yum yum... cake!... and some of the cupcakes.  I think we were supposed to freeze the "extra" cupcakes, but seriously, what is an "extra" cupcake?  I have a nearly empty box sitting on my dining room table to prove that there is no such thing.  Good thing we've been sticking to our walking routine!

Family photo with the cake.  My mom made Cameron's cute outfit.  Way to go Gangy!

Family photo.  :)

Hopefully tomorrow there will be an update with pictures from a "3 month" photo shoot.  I'm only about 4 days behind on taking those.  Who would've guessed it would be so hard to do a monthly photo shoot!  It was way too windy both yesterday and today so hopefully things will be calmer tomorrow!

Week 13

Week 13!

Tomorrow my baby will be three.months.old.  I can hardly believe it!

He almost rolled over yesterday... almost.  He's so much more active these days.  He loves to lay on the play mat and grab the rattles.  He doesn't have much interest in rattles that are on the floor next to him, but he loves the ones that hang from the play gym!

Lately when I go check on him in the crib, he has unswaddled his arms and legs and scooted himself around so he is laying the opposite way I put him to bed!  Silly baby.  This morning when I found him, he was busy scooting and bumping his head on the crib rail (and screaming about it).  I guess that's why bumpers would be nice?  Oh well, they're a big no-no these days, so he will just have to learn to stop scooting into the railing.

We're still up multiple times during the night... three months didn't bring any changes there.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for this to happen at 6 months.  :)

We've started a walking routine and will eventually work our way into training for a 5k.  Even Pepper likes going for walks with the BOB(It's an amazing stroller.  Worth every penny.  I'm so glad I splurged!) and she does so good!  She doesn't even pull on the leash!  I registered for a 5k that is happening NEXT WEEKEND!  I'm so excited.  I'm not planning to run much of it- but I won't lie- I'm going to try to run until the people at the start line can't see me anymore because I don't want everyone to know I'm planning to walk the rest of it.  I have to at least make it look like I'm going to try really hard. (Hear that, Jenna?  I'm going to fake it like I'm in shape.  And then I'm going to walk.)

Anyway, Pepper decided that it would be ok to join us for this week's pictures. We were so happy to have her back.

Sleeping baby.

What a sweet little man.  The only thing that would make this sweeter is if he was sleeping like this in his crib instead of on me.  I want to go to bed... But I don't want to move.

Also- this might be the last week we can use 3 month size pjs.  They are looking a little short in the arms. :)

Laundry Failure

Well, here is my second attempt at this post... The first one apparently disappeared somewhere into blog land. Boo. :(

So yesterday I did a load of baby laundry. It's still in the washing machine today.

I wasn't planning to leave it in there all weekend but I think I will.  Why did I give up on my baby's laundry?  Because it is a mess in there!

When I went to put it in the dryer yesterday I discovered goo. Little balls of gel goo everywhere!  I was crushed... Could it be my new detergent?!  I kept digging and found the source of the awful gel goo- a disposable diaper!!

I've washed the clothes two extra times and they are still covered in gel.  :( Anyone know how to fix it?

At least my baby is cute.

12 weeks... or the week my baby learned to drool

Or the week I got overwhelmed by tomatoes.... learning to freeze them is on my agenda for tomorrow.

Also the week I made three trips to the dentist... one for me to find out I have a cavity, one for me to get a cavity filled, and one to find out that Auntie Steph does NOT have a cavity.

This could also be the week mommy forgot how to use her camera... the photos seem a bit fuzzy.

And I guess it is the week I started playing Candy Crush.  Ugh.  I don't seem to be very good at it, but it helps keep me awake during the 3am (and last night the 1:30, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00... we didn't sleep much)  feedings.  :)

11 weeks

Well, I'm a few days late with this!  But at least I got this up before week 12 is due.  :)

This last week has been packed completely full!  We had a great time with lots of good friends that we don't get to see often enough.  It was wonderful to see everyone!

Pepper was busy helping Hubby with the boat so she was NOT interested in joining us for picture time.  When she has to choose between hanging out with me or hanging out with Hubby, it usually depends on who is going farther away from the house (or who is going to take her for a ride.  Rides always win!)

Poor little guy is battling his first stuffy nose.  We've been making it through the days with lots of love, steam, and the handy blue bulb thing the hospital sent with us.  Hopefully he gets over it soon.  Otherwise I'm tempted to invest in a NoseFrida or Baby Comfy Nose.  I know that people really like using these.  I am skeptical, mainly because I don't know if I could successfully use one without super gags.  But sometimes I feel like that bulb just isn't strong enough and if it meant my baby would feel better I suppose I could suck it up.  Literally.  (gag)

Here are some fun photos from our big weekend!

Hanging out with Uncle!

Hanging out with Grandpa and Cousin (who is 9 months old now!  wow!)!

Snuggles with Ellen and Noah (so excited to meet him in January!)

Hanging out with the boys!

First time golfing!

Found my thumb!

All of our company is gone so now Mommy hogs me!

We are missing a good friend today.  We love you Wade!
