45 weeks

Everyone has been sick here for the last couple of days.  Yesterday Gabe had a little bit of a fever and threw up on me more times than I could count.  He seems to be feeling a little bit better this morning, or he hasn't thrown up at least. Cameron has been enjoying having tea with mommy.  I realized I had some Elderberry tea so I've been making that or a honey/apple cider vinegar/cinnamon tea.  Hopefully it will help clear his sickness out.

The sun is out today so I'm hoping it will be warm enough to get a little fresh air!

Have I mentioned that Cameron is mostly potty trained?  We still need to figure out naps and bed time, but he's been on several outings in underwear without any accidents!

Big Steps!

I'm having the worst luck getting posts to save lately.  Here's a quick update while I work on my last weekly post!

Gabe decided that he was going to start using his walker yesterday- all by himself!

He is getting so big!  He wants to walk on his own without the walker, but can't quite figure out how to let go without tipping over.

On Saturday we had a fun filled day at a maple syrup festival.  We all did a 5k in the morning and then had a delicious pancake brunch!  I got a new personal best race time (post kids, I'm not sure I'll ever get back to my pre kids race times) of 34:31 AND I kept running after the race to get in my full 4 miles that I was scheduled to do for my May race training.

Yesterday both boys started to come down with some kind of cold.  I thought maybe Gabe was just working on more teeth, but this morning Cameron has the same stuffy/runny nose and cough. We were supposed to go spend a few days with their cousins, but decided it will be best to wait until they are healthy.  We don't want to spread sickness to anyone else.

34 & 35

Gabe is so busy lately!  He sits really well on his own.  He army crawls as soon as he gets back onto the floor.  He loves to get into everything he isn't supposed to!  It's about time to get the gates back out! Today he was after Pepper's bone.  Yesterday each time I put him down he headed for the shower.  This morning we had an incident when Cameron dropped a chunk of Play-Doh and I didn't see it.  Gabe tried to eat it but it stuck to the roof of his mouth and made him throw up.  I had to wipe it off the roof of his mouth with a wash cloth.  Poor Cameron can't handle the sight of anything gross so he had to wait in the bathroom until we had everything cleaned up.

Cameron is saying new words every day! He has understood everything we tell him for a long time but refused to say the words. So it has been a lot of fun for everyone now that he can communicate with us!  He's still pretty stubborn but I think he likes it better when he can tell us what he needs!

Tomorrow Cameron has his (kind of) first day of school! I'm bringing him to an ECFE class.  I think he's going to love it.  While we are there I'm going to talk to them about getting him signed up for preschool!  I cannot believe he's already going to be old enough to go to preschool.  He's going to like that more than mommy will.

26-32

Gabe had his 6 month appointment- he weighed 18 pounds!  We fed him his first solids a few days after his appointment!  He's tried a lot of different things since then and the only thing he didn't really like was cauliflower.

We all got sick between Christmas and New Years.  Gabe had his first two teeth pop through!  He ended up needing a visit to the doctor.  His first non well-baby visit. :(  poor buddy had croup.  At this appointment he weighed 19 pounds!  He gained a whole pound in a month!

He's working hard trying to figure out how crawling works.

Cameron had a blast sledding with Daddy.  Last year he was so scared to even sit on the sled but this year he went down the big hill all by himself!  He didn't want to come inside!

I'm not sure when it happened, but Gabe can sit on his own now!  I haven't been very good at keeping track of his milestones. At least I'm still taking weekly photos!

Cameron isn't interested in being in them, he would much rather help me take them.  He's turning into quite the little photographer!  He even took this photo!

20-21-22

Halloween was fun!  Cameron was Daniel Tiger, Gabe was a bear, and I was a turtle!  We went trick or treating at the bank on Friday and that was fun!  The bank staff was dressed as the 7 dwarfs!

We got home from the bank and Gabe rolled over for the first time!  He flipped onto his tummy and Cameron clapped and shouted "Roll! Roll!"  And then he kept rolling and was on his back again!  Such a big boy!

Gabe is 5 months now and comfortably wearing 9 month size clothes.  I don't think he will be in 9 month size very long. He is growing much faster than Cameron did.  He loves to talk and blow raspberries.

We took some 5 month pictures and we are loving how warm November has been so far!

Cameron's big news

Cameron pooped on the potty for the first time today!

Mommy was busy cleaning up pee off the floor from a post shower accident and looked over just in time to see him grunting and run him to the potty chair.

Yay Cameron!  What a big boy!

healthy habits

Cameron's favorite activity lately is brushing his teeth.

A couple of nights ago he started pounding on the bathroom door.  I was trying to figure out what he was up to.  Then he went to the kitchen and tried to pull his step stool over to the bathroom.  He decided that was too heavy, so he gave up and pointed up the stairs.  "Duh, Mom!  I'm ready for bed but I need to brush my teeth first!"

We've been busy practicing different parts of the body.  He loves pointing to his nose and showing off his belly button.  It's amazing how fast he catches on to things.  He knows where most of his toys go so he helps clean them up most nights before bed.

We had another prenatal appointment yesterday.  I'm currently 15 weeks.  Baby's heartbeat sounded good!  She said it was about 130-135.  I can't remember what Cameron's was so I can't make a prediction of boy or girl.  ;)  we have our big appointment with ultrasound next month, but we haven't decided if we want to find out yet!

And now we are off to visit Santa!
